Today, we’re proud to share the launch of our Digital Inclusion Initiative, a program designed to promote both educational equity and environmental sustainability.
On Tuesday, 15 July 2025, Badliza Badrudin, Office Manager at Quantum Mortgages, met with Mr. Dave Greenhalgh, Director of Sixth Form at Shenley Brook End Secondary School in Milton Keynes, to deliver the first donation under this initiative: eight upcycled laptops for students at school.
Why this matters
This project is driven by two core goals:
- Bridging the digital divide: Many students still lack access to the technology they need to succeed in a digital-first learning environment. Our donation will help close that gap and ensure more students have access to the tools they need.
- Reducing electronic waste: By refurbishing and repurposing laptops that would otherwise be discarded, we’re helping to reduce e-waste and extend the life of valuable technology.
A global touch
In addition to our local efforts, we’re proud to share that one of the donated laptops will be provided to one of our employees at Quantum Mortgages, who will be taking it to Nigeria to support an underprivileged family with school-aged children. This gesture reflects our broader vision of using technology to create opportunities, both locally and globally.
Looking ahead
This is just the beginning. We’re exploring ways to expand the Digital Inclusion Initiative to other schools across Buckinghamshire and beyond. Our model of refurbishing unused laptops and donating them offers a scalable, sustainable way to make a real difference.
